The Metrolink train woke me up again today. In agonizing succession, trains blared their horns every half hour, beginning at 5:00 a.m. In hope of some good news, I crawled out of bed to take a rapid test. Positive again.
Suffice it to say, I hate trains now. I’ve decided we would all be better off if every train disappeared. I’m not sure you all would be convinced with a straight opinion piece, though — so to balance the scale, I’ve decided to interview an avid train defender.
In today’s issue, a Q&A with train apologist and outgoing editor-in-chief of The Student Life, Jasper Davidoff PO ’23.
Except — unfortunately, after a wonderful, thought-provoking 25 minute talk, I said adieu to Jasper and checked my phone.
The recording hadn’t started. And in true millennial reporter fashion, I hadn’t been taking notes. We will be re-recording soon. In the meantime, a group project is infighting and I have a paper to write.
Until next time,
Maria
P.S. I’m going to keep my thesis defense small tomorrow, but if you’d like to read it, it’s currently on my Google Drive (if it’s private, you can request access and I’ll grant it).
